Yang House: Your Artsy Guesthouse in Elyu

La Union aka Elyu is one of our favorite weekender go-to places outside the Metro aside from Baguio and Zambales. Like Baler, Elyu is also known for its surf vibe but more laid back and less crowded. So when we got invited by our friend, Ferdz of, we didn’t hesitate to go. We also got to visit a friend who already resides in Elyu as a surf and travel photographer and also a regular musician in local food spots as The Sound Check Guy, Mike Del Rosario.

This time, we stayed at an artsy guesthouse, Yang House which is just a five-minute walk to beach and relatively easy to find. The facade of this guest house will already give you the artsy vibe with its hand-painted walls and a slightly battered but creative signage of Yang House. We were then welcomed by Yang and her mom. Although we were not able to try it, Yang’s mom can make you delicious home-cooked meals if you’d like. You can inquire to them about food inclusion packages during your stay.

The lounge area was our favorite. It is the most colorful and hippest spot in the house. If you do not feel like going to beach yet or just want to relax after hours of travel, this is the perfect spot for you. You can have coffee, play board games, read a book, write on the graffiti wall or even do your favorite yoga pose!

We stayed in “Tangadan” room which has six bunk beds with basic amenities and an air-conditioning unit. For a guesthouse that is pegged to be artistic side, the rooms were a bit bare. A pop of art or color in the room could make it a little more lively. The stay per night is priced reasonably at Php 800 per person. It is also ideal for groups as they have group packages which include full board meals. You can send them a message on their Facebook Page or call them on this number 0917 542 8124.
