Incubus returned to the Philippines and had a concert for the fifth time! People can’t seem to have enough of this band and although the concert may not have been sold-out, but it was enough to fill Araneta’s big dome last February 17, 2018. I, for one, couldn’t contain my excitement even though I have watched them four times before this. Yes. I have watched them every time they went here for a concert. But I must admit, after their “Light Grenades” album, I have not keenly listened to their new music.

REMEMBERING THEIR FIRST VISIT

A lot has changed since they first held their concert here in the Philippines. I still remember their first concert. For a P500 general admission ticket and held in an open ground without the big monitors, we felt like outside spectators. A lot of the people just tried to make do with listening to the music of the band. At least, we know that Incubus was there, performing. Even though, it seemed like we were just listening to recorded audio, we were still excited. We were fans of the band after all.

Incubus Concerts in the Philippines:

  • February 17, 2018 (Araneta Coliseum)
  • March 13, 2015 (MOA Arena)
  • July 28, 2011 “If Not Now, When?” (Araneta Coliseum)
  • March 9, 2008 “Light Grenades Tour” (Araneta Coliseum)
  • March 12, 2004 (CCP Open Grounds)

STELLAR NIGHT, BLINDING LIGHTS

A lot has changed since their first visit to the Philippines. With over 13 million worldwide sales from their albums, there are a lot of songs that made Incubus one of the biggest bands in the world. And they didn’t disappoint the fans when they performed 23 songs, alternating from their classic hits to some tunes from their new album. Add to that the stellar stage lights and visual graphics, making the concert not only a treat for the ears but a feast for the eyes. It will be no surprise if they come back to perform for their Filipino rock fans and we will sure be waiting.
