4th Singkwento International Film Festival

Happening this February 15-22, 2019 is the 4th Singkuwento International Film Festival at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Intramuros, Manila. Featuring films from independent film makers varying from documentaries, short films to full-length feature films.

Tickets are priced at P150 per screening or you can avail of the festival pass for P1000.

We were able to catch the February 16 screening of documentary films of Durungawan, Landong, Takip Sining, Serbedora and Liwanag. Durungawan (our personal favorite) was emotionally heavy, you’d want to hug your lola’t lolo after watching this. Landog was an eye-opener on the struggle of the Ati people amidst the colorful celebration of the Dinagyang Festival. Takip Sining was beautifully shot and showed a positive insight on jailed inmates’ lives because of art. Serbedora was about the gritty plight of a student working in the world of Cybersex. Liwanag was the closest to our hearts as we personally know the character in the film – Luis Liwanag, our mentor in Street Photography.
